So the shop so far....

Well I have now officially left the corporate world and throwing my all into running my own business and starting my vintage shop - Scarlet Realm. I have been a busy bee and I thank you for all supporting me so far. So as you saw before my shop needs some work and have been deciding on colours. I have gone for one wall in a greeny colour and 3 walls in cream. It really needs brightening up so I think this will do the trick.

I love these colours...
I love the mixture of green and cream here

Vintage Bike

Just a bathroom with the colours I'd like

Shabby chic furniture
Me and my mum have an obsession to say the least with the colour green, but I think it can work really well in my shop. So I have taken some paint testers and so far I have...
Dulux Ocean Ripple - I think this is too pale

Dulux Willow Tree - the one on the right hand wall

I have also got Crown "Flagon" - http://www.crownpaint.co.uk/colour/447/flagon.htm?rt=2&cn=flagon

I am very torn but I don't actually think any of them are perfect. I just love Farrow and Ball colours...
Farrow & Ball Vert De Terre
Farrow & Ball Saxon Green

So guys that's it for today but I will be keeping you updated with the progress

Shop Designs

So I am in the middle of designing the shop that I am now renting and wondering how and where on earth should I start. Whilst I like the thrown together look I also want to hold readings/circles in the shop so need some form of consistency. The issue is that I need to stand out from the rest, and the "shabby chic" look is just sooooo boring! So here are a few inspiring ideas....

The shop definitely has to be shabby/chic/rustic rather thank junk shop....

So with that I have picked a few colours out from b&q and will be posting them later :)

My Poster!

Well I have been working lots on the planning for my shop and having the help of my wonderful fiance have finally designed a poster for my shop. I love the colour combination as its different from the usual roses, pink/red designs and as its my shop I can do what I want!

So I handed my notice in at the dredged current job at a bank that shall not be named and have my leaving date of Friday the 20th July! Whahooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Ok so now the hard work starts!

Have been thinking lots about my first spiritual walk and am planning this for Saturday 18th August. I have tonnes and tonnes of ideas surrounding the changing seasons, some meditations to do and how to change negative into positive energy. I can't wait to do it now! And fingers crossed it goes well I intend to do one roughly each month!

I have also been buying tonnes from charity and boot sales recently. I have been intending to upload photos but I literally have not found the time, but come two weeks time I will be posting everyday if i can - I promise! :)

So my question to you this week is - if you had one chance in life to make one change, what would that be?

An Update....

Well helllooo all,

I am very sorry I haven't posted for quite sometime but here I am and wanted to update on some bits!

I have been making my dream to open a vintage shop a reality and been buying stock from various places :)

Also I am looking for a part time job so that I can start out properly and have been moving my Grandma from her old house. So as you can imagine I have been rather busy with all of this.

Nevertheless I have not forgotten you and would love some ideas from you all about crafty things to sell in my shop. I love the blog http://sewalittlelove.blogspot.co.uk/ for some true inspiration! I have been considering getting out my sewing machine lent to me by my Grandma but am a little bit scared!

Finally, I have been working on my spiritual side as this is another side of my business which I would like to develop. I can do spiritual readings and workshops in the Essex area and will be happy to discuss this with any of you.

So where is my shop.... Bretts Farm, Chelmsford Road, Essex CM6 1RF

Love all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Line Dancing!

Today I went line dancing and I can highly recommend it. I used to do salsa dancing and got fairly good but I decided I needed a new challenge and found a local line dancing class. It was fabulous, plus it doesn't matter if you don't get the steps because they are so easy you pick them up in no time!

Im dreaming of...

I think I need to get some cowboy boots....

Yeeehahhh Cowboy!

Im feeling quite positive today as well as I have now lost 1 stone 3 pounds over the last 4 months! Only 1 more stone to go.

Ride on Cowboy!

Against Animal Testing

Right ladies,

Who honestly thought that The Body Shop did not test on animals? I did! Well I have found a fabulous blog http://vintagemakeup.blogspot.co.uk/2011/07/animal-testing.html which has a comprehensive list of the good and the bad guys. I think that you will be amazed at the list! I need a major clear out of my cabinets now.

Share with everyone pleaassseeeee :)

Spring time, snow in April, wedding prep!

Hola lovely ladies,

First things first why is it snowing in April?!?! I'm very confused over this and my body is too. I seem to have developed a cough/cold over the last few days and I have my sister in laws wedding next weekend and I have to be well for that!

It took me aggeeesss to find an outfit to wear for the wedding. I wanted to go for the cute, vintage effortless look. Could I find the perfect dress in February/March - NO. Luckily though after trawling through countless websites and giving up on vintage I have found a very agreeable number from Mina UK at a bargain price of £30 -hoorah! It is on their website but I got it from a stockist in a town near me. I have actually got 3 to choose from and have put a picture up of 2 below but decided to go with my first choice in the end (we are women we are allowed to), the navy one.

 Mina UK

Miss Selfridge - going to wear for a summer wedding

The third one is from Kurt Muller but is end of the line so I couldn't find a picture.

My next dilemma was what accessories to wear with it, the model is quite tall and as I'm only 5"2 the dress comes to my knees. I'm going for nude/pink colour peep toe shoes with statement earings from Accesorize and a "wow" handbag in pink. Navy shouldn't technically be a difficult colour to match but I haven't worn navy since my secondary school uniform so it was tricky.

For my hair I'm going for this flower... and am going to attempt some form of an up-do. I'll get my other half to take a photo of the finished look and will upload. My make-up I want to keep very vintage and will go through my lippies to find the best one.

So this weekend I got my hair trimmed and my nails done in a lovely pale pearly pink colour on Saturday. Whilst I was out I popped into Cancer research UK and bought myself a dressing table hand hold mirror which came in a set of 3 with a comb and brush for £6.50. It is silver and has a lovely design on. I'll take a photo of this too and upload. Rather annoyingly my camera takes it's photos too large and I'm yet to work out how to make them small enough to upload here :-)

Today I fell in love with the new Mulberry "Del Ray" range which is soon to be launched for their A/W range. The range is inspired by Lana Del Ray and I must say even I am thinking of saving up for the purple/brown one! An absolute splurge at £795, whilst saving for a wedding/house is going to be difficult.

I wonder how much I need to blog about it to get a freebie....

Anyway. today I'm...
  • Thinking go away cold come back next week
  • Having a glass of white wine mid-week oops
  • Considering shaving and exfoliating and maybe starting to use gradual build up tan

That's it for now sweeties have a fab last working day before the Easter long weekend
