Autumn Nails

Hey Guys,

Did you all have a good weekend?

Saturday night we went out for a yummy Chinese, and I decided to do a autumn inspired nail polish. Nothing too fancy (and I apologise for the bad bad photos, light is just terrible at the moment). First I did two coats of Revlon 570 "Vixen" (£6.49 but Boots are currently offering 3 for 2) followed by one coat of Natural Collection "Black Cherry" then a top coat, Sally Hansen No chip Topcoat

The Revlon polish is a lovely autumn colour, in a great berry shade and you can never go wrong with Revlon colours I think, although I recommend leaving it a good 10 minutes in between coats. The Natural Collection polish isn't particularly great on its own but I teamed it with this Revlon colour as over the top I think it works really well. I have serious OCD about doing two coats of colour, but you could probably get away with doing one of each and then applying the top coat. So what do you think... nothing too fancy but I like it :-)

The Revlon colour is very dark but on the nails comes out a nice berry colour.

They have a nice sheen to them and a slight shimmery colour, as aposed to the Revlon on its own which is a flat colour. I always apply top coat for longevity as I am heavy handed with the cleaning but I hope this lasts all week! Ill let you know.

Hope you have a great week girlies.

George at Asda Nail Varnish Review + Patriotic Nails

Last week I went to Asda for my weekly shop as I was closer to my mums and Asda  always have better deals and offers compared to other supermarkets.

When I was browsing the rows though I saw that they do a make-up and nail range. I am probably really late to cotton onto this but nevertheless I bought a red nail polish and a black liquid eye-liner to try out.

I bought this Black liquid eye-liner for £2.75 and this nail varnish in Red for £1.

The blue colour on my nail was to add a patriotic touch this week and is an old Essie one I have. So here are the results........

The colour went on pretty well and I did two coats and a top coat which is my usual routine however, after 2 days they started chipping :(

I thought that I would give it the benefit of the doubt at only being £1 and I'm not usually too harsh on brands but this one wasn't really cutting it from George considering for £1 I could have gone to the Poundshop and got another branded product. Oh well you win some you loose some eh. One point I will just add though is that I think it would be good for a quick night out as it dried really quickly.

Have you bought any products from George lately? What did you think?
